ccbsmThe Coalition of California Black School Board Members (CCBSBM) was the first minority caucus established as an entity under California School Board Association in the late 1970’s later becoming a California nonprofit in 1993. It is the largest Black Organization representative of elected officials in the State of California.

CCBSBM is a membership-based organization comprising of elected Black school board members or school districts that have Black students representations within the 10,129 school districts (including: Elementary, K-12, K-8, Middle, Junior High, Continuation, Alternative, Community Day, Special Education and Other) in California of which African American students comprise 7.4% of the population of public schools.

CCBSBM is dedicated to providing its membership with the necessary professional development, leadership, educational workshops and training, governance and policy development to be effective leaders.
