The recent implementation of LCFF and Common Core is a landmark and a call for all school board members and friends of education to stand up and mold the way schools are funded and how curriculum is delivered to those children of color, to not be status quo and continue to do the same thing we have done for 40 years, and expect different results.

At this year’s CSBA conference our guest speaker will be Patricia Rucker from the State Department of education, she will give us first hand information on LCFF and Common Core. This is your time to ask questions and be heard, so please plan to attend the CCBSBM luncheon on Monday December 15th 2014. This is also your opportunity to update your membership dues in order to vote.

Gloria Allen Statewide President, along with Southern Vice President Craig Deluse , Central Vice President Ida Johnson from Merced School District and Vice President South Virnicia Jordan Green of Perris School District , completing the roster is Emma Sharrif Secretary Compton Unified School District.  Dr. Betty Lusk Treasurer, Margie Garrett Membership Chair, Compton Unified School District and Daryl Adams, Director at Large Black for CSBA.  “I‘m excited to work with these educational leaders throughout the state,” added Adams, with the implementation of LCFF and Common Core

CCBSM has worked extensively with their Latino counterparts in CSBA over the years and will maintain the level of cooperation and communication with all of the Caucuses.  “Everyone recognizes the big picture in California education and the success of all children is vital to the future of this state” said Allen.  I’m looking forward to a very good year for education.
